Diversity-Adaptation-Development of Plants - UMR DIADE

UMR DIADE’s research aims to generate knowledge to develop appropriate strategies for the preservation of tropical ecosystems and the promotion of crop biodiversity. It focuses on tropical species (rice, coffee, Casuarina, palms, millet, yam, etc), whose conservation, management and use are issues for the sustainable development of communities in the South. It relies upon a wide range of approaches, ranging from population genetics and functional and structural genomics to functional analysis of candidate genes.

The topics covered fall into two main fields: reproductive biology and the regulation of plant development in order to obtain new phenotypes of agronomic interest; and the evolution of genetic and functional biodiversity as a result of manmade and environmental factors.
