Manohar Lal Khattar admits shortage of DAP fertilizer and promises rapid distribution
Announcing 50 development projects worth Rs 125 crore for Sohna, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Saturday acknowledged the shortage of DAP fertilizer in several districts during the current planting season. .
“I get daily reports on the fertilizer stock. We are trying to distribute it through the system. When there is a shortage, some people also try to accumulate it… I want to assure everyone that the fertilizer will be distributed on time and that no one will have a problem, ”he said during a “Vikas gathering” in the village of Sarmathla in the region. .
It comes two days after Haryana Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister JP Dalal said the long queues of farmers seeking to purchase DAP (diammonium phosphate) in different parts of Haryana have been fueled by rumors, while claiming that there is a sufficient stock of fertilizer in the state.
Earlier this week, Khattar said there was a “slight shortage of DAP” but “we advised (farmers) to use another fertilizer, SSP (Single Super Phosphate) as an alternative”.
DAP is an essential input to ensure optimum wheat productivity.
On Saturday’s broadcast, Khattar said the state is surveying families with annual incomes below Rs 1 lakh to cover them under one of its 40 programs. Reiterating that the government has carried out development works to the tune of Rs 288 crore in the Sohna region over the past five years, Khattar declared five rail and road corridor projects – Gurugram-Alwar Highway, KMP Expressway, Orbital Railway Corridor, Delhi- Mumbai Expressway and Western Dedicated Expressway – will help improve conne
